DADS NEEDED!  CHRISTIAN DADS! "Go into all the world and preach the Gospel!"                                                                    - Mark 16:15 December 12, 2011 New Life Corrections Ministry Wayside Cross Ministries 215 East New York Street Aurora IL 60505  tbeatty@waysidecross.org Who taught you how to be a Dad?  Were you blessed to grow up in a Christian home with Christian parents, so that "from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to mkake you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus?"  (see 2 Timothy 3:15)  We know that God blesses us that we might be a blessing to others!  Come to prison with us and BE A BLESSING!   God has honored us with a "specialized" outreach to incarcerated Dads!  THANK YOU FATHER!  God has "opened the door" into many jails & prisons, where we're invited to present our "Dads' Classes" - where we're honored to present the glorious Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ in the context of fatherhood.  God is restoring "the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers!"  (See Malachi 4:6)   In 2010, we had 121 men "graduate" from our Dads' Classes.   In 2011, we saw 270 "graduates."   In 2012, I'm praying for 1000!   Only God knows how many wives & children will be impacted through this outreach! We present the same Dads' Classes as in the weekly classes, but we present them where weekly classes simply are not an option for us.  Our purpose is to: Bring the Gospel to the inmates in the context of fatherhood, Spark an interest in the men to become better Dads, break the  generational cycle of crime, reduce recidivism, and Spark an interest in the Prison Staff to welcome the year-long Malachi Dads' Program. "Road Team" members lead small-group discussions between the classes, and may lead classes (your choice).  We pay our own expenses (travel, motel & some meals).  Class materials are provided.  (For those interested, it costs us only about $6 per inmate for class materials.  Much is donated.) WE NEED MORE DADS to help present the DADS' CLASSES! (18 and older, no felony record, Pastor's recommendation)     Dave Haidle (Road Team member):  "The majority of men in prison are fathers, and contrary to what many might think, these men are eager to be good fathers to their children.  Our communities can only benefit from these men becoming better fathers.  I can't think of a better investment of time than to be teaching eager men about God's perspective on fathering.
