"ROAD TEAMS" TAKE OUR

"DADS' CLASSES"

TO THE MEN IN THE ILLINOIS' PRISONS!

On our Dads' Classes "Road Teams," we present the same Dads' Classes we have weekly in many local County Jails, but we present them in a 2-Day Seminar.  We  visit Prisons, where weekly classes simply are not an option for us.  Our purpose is to:

  • Bring the Gospel to the inmates in the context of fatherhood,
  • Spark an interest in the men to become better Dads, break the  generational cycle of crime, reduce recidivism, and
  • Spark an interest in the Prison Staff to welcome the year-long Malachi Dads' Program.

"Road Team" members lead small-group discussions between the classes, and may lead classes (your choice).  We pay our own expenses (travel, motel & some meals).  Class materials are provided.

Dave Haidle (Road Team member):  "The majority of men in prison are fathers, and contrary to what many might think, these men are eager to be good fathers to their children.  Our communities can only benefit from these men becoming better fathers.  I can't think of a better investment of time than to be teaching eager men about God's perspective on fathering. It is challenging, humbling and rewarding;  plus you get to know other brothers in Christ on a deeper level as you soldier together."

Requests

The students in ‘Renewing Fatherhood’ are not getting their passes to attend class. The past two weeks attendance has suffered. Last week none were issued a call to the Assistant Warden of Programs was necessary to get passes issued so at least a few could attend. Please pray that the staff of Dixon will be more diligent in seeing the passes are distributed.

New Life Corrections’ road trip for fatherhood seminar January 8-10 at Vandalia Correctional Center; Because of personal family commitments I will not be able to participate but please pray for traveling mercies, God glorifying teachings & open and softened hearts of the fathers. Also pray for additional volunteers for future New Life Corrections Fatherhood seminars.

Wisdom in choosing and developing curriculum for a new class planned for Fall 2012. The class will focus on teaching the students how to interpret the Bible, and fruitful daily Bible study/devotion and prayer.
Pray for last year Malachi Dad graduate Rodney J. who was recently paroled. Pray for, housing in healthy environment, reconciliation with family, finding a solid Bible based church family, a Christian mentor and eventual employment.

SOCPM is in urgent need of additional reoccurring monthly support to cover expenses. Currently, monthly expenses are averaging $650. Reoccurring monthly support is $205. Thankfully one-time gifts have been a blessing in off setting some of these expenses and have reduced the need to be paid from personal finances.  Please pray that God will bring forth more ministry partners who can give monthly.

Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord;

Who taught you how to be a Dad?  Were you blessed to grow up in a Christian home with Christian parents, so that "from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to mkake you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus?"  (see 2 Timothy 3:15)  We know that God blesses us that we might be a blessing to others!  Come to prison with us and BE A BLESSING!

God has honored us with a "specialized" outreach to incarcerated Dads!  THANK YOU FATHER!  God has "opened the door" into many jails & prisons, where we're invited to present our "Dads' Classes" - where we're honored to present the glorious Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ in the context of fatherhood.  God is restoring "the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers!"  (See Malachi 4:6)

In 2010, we had 121 men "graduate" from our Dads' Classes.

In 2011, we saw 270 "graduates."

In 2012, I'm praying for 1000!

Only God knows how many wives & children

will be impacted through this outreach!

We have weekly Dads' Classes in the

Kane County Jail,  DuPage County Jail,   DeKalb County Jail,  Kendall County Jail

Stateville Prison                             Illinois Youth Center - St. Charles

We call our Dads travelling to hold 2-Day Seminars, our "Road Teams." We present the same Dads' Classes as in the weekly classes, but we present them where weekly classes simply are not an option for us.

(For those interested, it costs us only about $6 per inmate for class materials.  Much is donated.)

WE NEED MORE DADS

to help present the

DADS' CLASSES!

(18 and older, no felony record, Pastor's recommendation)

Dave Haidle (Road Team member):  "The majority of men in prison are fathers, and contrary to what many might think, these men are eager to be good fathers to their children.  Our communities can only benefit from these men becoming better fathers.  I can't think of a better investment of time than to be teaching eager men about God's perspective on fathering.
